Fortinet is looking for a Support Manager who will manage and build Fortinet's Global L1 center in Bangalore India reporting directly to VP Support

The candidate will be responsible for setting up a 24x7 L1 support operation and developing/implementing the required processes and their execution.

Job Description:

  • Managing all support issues for the L1 center, improving service levels with the business, prioritizing multiple requests and overseeing daily support operation and developing metrics to measure L1 center performance for support channels and team.
  • Improve the overall support function to make it more efficient and effective - people, processes. Ensuring that SLAs are met and that quality targets are reached and maintained.
  • Shift planning, Facilitates team meetings and holding regular status meetings.
  • Effectively communicates relevant Support related information to superiors.
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.

Requirements:

  • Several years of experience managing technical support teams
  • 24x7 production support delivery experience
  • Experience with Chat Support
  • Experience in support process development
  • b troubleshooting and problem solving ability
  • Excellent client communication and management skills
  • Technical Experience in TCP/IP, routing protocols, L2/L3 switches and security products firewalls, IPSec, IDS/IPS, Anti Spam, virus scanning
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle confrontation when necessary.
  • Experience in working with international clients and multi cultural business environment.

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in EE, CS, or CE or equivalent experience

JOB TITLE: Technical Trainer Network Security   

Job Description:

Working the for the Research and Development group, the technical trainer is responsible for developing and delivering training to our end customers, partners and internal employees in the EMEA region. The training courses focus on our latest product developments and core technologies. You will bring to the group expertise in one area and contribute to the overall courseware development.

The role of a trainer is both technical and commercial, and therefore requires someone with a b technical grounding and a commercial flair. It is imperative that the candidate can work well in a globally dispersed team and is a self-starter who can work with minimum supervision.

The role requires a 30% travel time, which on average equates to one week per month. The travel is essentially in the EMEA region however you will need to attend meetings at our North America head office and engineering sites, and possibly deliver trainings in other regions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Expert knowledge in more than one of the following subjects is required: Networking (Ethernet, IP Routing, Dynamic Routing Protocols), Firewalling, Content Inspection (Web Filtering, Antivirus and Intrusion Detection), Authentication, Virtual Networking (VLAN, VPN, VRF) and Network Security Forensics.
  • Knowledge of Database, Relational Database Management Systems and Web Application Servers would be desirable.
  • Knowledge of other vendors’ products would be an advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work as a team member within APAC TAC to provide technical web and phone support to our customers in the APAC Region
  • Analysis of support request, completion of requests for information and documentation
  • Recommend actions based on analysis
  • Provide technical solutions or work-around, with regular status report to customers
  • Reproduction of customer environments on lab equipment
  • Follow up technical cases, deal with escalation and manage the right expectation until the closure of the cases
  • Take initiatives and ownership of problem to drive for results
  • Customer education (gaps in networking, product knowledge etc)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 4+ years experience in a technical support role in a networking/security company
  • b understanding of TCP/IP, L2/L3 switches
  • Experience with security products firewalls, IPSec, IDS/IPS, Anti Spam, virus scanning
  • b troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Administrator knowledge of Windows, UNIX or Linux
  • Previous call center experience, preferably supporting data networking products and/or security products is desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is desirable
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) is a must – Mandarin / Cantonese / Korean / Thai is a plus
